Background:- The state of Jammu and Kashmir is a dispute between India, Pakistan, Kashmiri militants and China. About 43 % of state is administrated by India, 37 % by Pakistan and 20 % by China.
China had conquered Aksai Chin and shaksham valley part of state. Aksai Chin, a part of British Jammu and Kashmir is conquered by China during Indo-China war in 1962. Shaksham valley was gifted to China by Pakistan in 1963 as an agreement.
If we see the history of J & K, it is claimed that first civilization was there by sage kashyapa and then later on many kings ruled that place. It was ruled by pashtuns in 18th century which was then taken by Sikh empire. Later on British able to win the region and after that they put the region under Punjab kingdom.

The last king of state was Maharaja Hari Singh who was a Hindu king ruled on a Muslim dominated state.
Conflict -  The conflict was started by the freedom ordinance of British Govt. which says that From 1947, British rule over 562 princely states of Indian subcontinent is lapsed and now all the states are free. They have right to decide whether they want to be include in the Union of India, or Dominion of Pakistan or stay free.
Until Pakistanis intrusion in the state, the state wanted to remain Free State but with Pakistani attack along with tribal militants, King Hari singh asked for Indian help. India put an agreement to King Hari singh that if he agrees on inclusion of J & K within Union of India then only India will help him. He agreed on 25th Oct 1947 and by 27th Oct 1947, the agreement was passed.  Indian troops managed to re-conquer major part of J & K but due to poor politics, the matter was raised in UN and a LOC is stated between India and Pakistan occupied Kashmir.
This was a brief of conflict of 1947. Today 66 years have passed and now situation is quite changed although position of conflict is still the same as earlier.
Possible Steps of Solution:-
1.      The major problem is Pakistan’s policy towards Kashmir which was accelerated after Bangladesh division. So We must stop Pakistan to support these militant groups in either way.
If it’s before 1998, then I must have say that an army action could help us for that but now Pakistan is also a nuclear power that stops us to go for direct action. But one thing can be done that we can push Pakistan on back foot by economic and state war pressures.
Every country in this world knew importance of Indian market. We have many international friends which are supporting us since freedom. First of all, a major change in foreign policy is required. We must assure separation of Pakistan from International community. Let not do business with the nations who are providing any type of help to Pakistan or doing business with Pakistan. This point might seem pointless and definitely it will hit our economy too. But we will able to break Pakistani economy much more than ours. Majority of goods are being produced in India. Mainly we import oil, chemicals, steel and coal fuels etc. In which except oil and fuel other goods can be produced in India too. India is 10th largest importer in the world. No business with the nations who supports or do business with Pakistan will badly impact economy and market of almost whole the world. That will help us to pressurize Pakistan.

2. Removal of Article 370. Any time, when a political party in India tries to oppose this law, the locals of J & K opposes them and political parties of India don’t get enough guts to lose their vote banks. Article 370 prevents Indian Nationals resident of other than J & K to purchase any property or start a business in J & K. This allows peoples of J & K to use all the resources by themselves only which is good but to solve this conflict, it is necessary that we change population of J & K. By removal of this law, other state residents will be encouraged to buy property, start business and live in J & K. This will create a new population in J & K which will be definitely Indian mindset population.

3. Jammu & Kashmiri youth should be encouraged to pursue study and to obtain other fields in other states of India. This will start migration of them from their native which will help to reduce a certain mindset populate from Kashmir.

4.     More and more cultural and historical institutes and universities must be open in J & K which let them learn about the state since starting and increase their faith in the constitution of India.

5  Local militant groups who are not ready to talk to government and causing terrorism must be eliminated brutally. A tough stance against them is must for that several small operations must be placed to eradicate them.

6.To win confidence of local residents (especially Muslims) lots of beneficial schemes should be launched

7.Along this, crime cases against army officials and local police must be resolve effectively. We can set some example by punishing army officials indulge in crimes like rape and murder.

8. Kashmiri Pandits and Hindus must be relocated in valley. However it is tough though possible with military support. Any action against them will be a chance to eliminate local leaders supporting free Kashmir by lawful acts.
